A Roadmap for Recovering Species of Greatest Conservation Need in the Mississippi Flyway
This document, or “roadmap” for the conservation of species of greatest conservation need (SGCN) in the Mississippi Flyway, is intended to set forth those actions, to be taken within the next five years, that are needed to significantly advance the ability to recover those species at landscape to regional scales.
This document is arranged by six themes: Species of Greatest Conservation Need; Research and Evaluation; Conservation Delivery; Partnerships; Challenges and Opportunities; and Policy and Funding Needs. A brief narrative provides background on each and serves as an introduction to a set of priority actions associated with each, although there often is overlap among actions and themes. A set of videos by subject experts associated with each topic is available on YouTube, and some key pieces of published literature are cited as well. Watch the corresponding YouTube videos in the Meeting Resources section of this website.
